Just sold my pristine stock oem 16x8" wheels including Michelin tires (w/7K miles) to a friend for $400. This was probably a fire-sale price, but I needed the storage space and was glad to see them go.

yup... fire sale. I would guess that they're worth double easily. And with no milage (less than 500) easily 1200 for the rims/tires.

wow, $1200 is way too optimistic imho for stock 16's with tires. My guess would be $250-$350 for a set of 4 rims, and around $600-$700 tops for a set with good tires.

call the dealer and price the rims.. and call and get the best price on the tires.. the divide by 2, and you get $1200... if they're new, that to me is a good price... if you want to give them away, then sell them for $800.

Bought a stock set of rims with Michelin's for my 05 E320 CDI for $600 from a Benz owner on Ebay. I needed the rims for new Blizzak Snow Tires. Thought it was a good price. $600-800 is in the ball park.

Sold mine for $450. That's with less than 1K mile on the OEM Continental tires & 16" rims in like new condition.

Even at that price, took me a while to sell the package. Seem like there's not much demand for the OEM 16" set. I know even the tire cost more than that, but it's all supply & demand, For the tire, there's not much car that run 225/55/16 tire. For the rims, the W210, C, or CLK won't fit w/o custom lug (12mm vs 14mm)

Bought the 17" 5-spoke w/ Michelin Primacy set for $950, came from less than 100 miles E500 w/ sport package, new Primacy run about $240/each tire, so I can't complain

FYI, this similar 17" set as I bought went throught eBay for $850, a bit more mile

keep your eye out for a deal on some 17" and rubber like that for me.. I'd jump on it if that's the going price! And unload the 16" for $500, heck! That's only $500 or so to upgrade..

Wow that's sad I guess there is no demand for MB rims. Dosen't the dealer charge like $600 per rim or something? You guys are selling sets for <$400? The tires are worth more than that! BMW wheels go for MUCH more. I wanted a set of 17" OEMs and they go for ~$1200....WITHOUT tires! I sold a set of 8 yr old 18" AC Schnitzers 2 yrs ago with WORN tires for $1300!

Think about supply vs. demand. How many sets of the stock 16" wheels from a w211 are out there? Even the 17" appearance package wheels are relatively common, and though they look nice, they're nothing more than a 1-piece cast wheel.

I don't think BMW wheels are necessarily worth more. For example, the 16" basketweave wheels from a 740i list for $400-$500 each from the dealer. However, they can be had all day long on ebay for less than $300 for a set of four, simply because there are so many of them out there. Which BMW 17" OEM wheels were worth $1200? Were they the BBS multi-piece 17's? If so, those list for around $700 each from the dealer, and are actually somewhat desirable.

Also, you cannot compare AC Schnitzer wheels with oem MBZ wheels. They would be more comparable to AMG or Lorinser wheels, which still demand in excess of $1k for a set in good shape w/o tires. Even the staggered, forged 17's on my 535i are only worth about $1k.

Like I said, if anyone has OEM W211 17" on Michelin Rubber for sale or know where I can get a good (new/ like new set) for under $1000 shipped... PM me! I would jump on that in a heart beat!

Exactly, just as you said. The 17" BBS "type 5" is OEM and for the E39 528i sport package. Gorgeous rims with a lip. Hard to come by and always demand top dollar. You're right, my stock 15" basketweaves are worth squat. As for Mercedes, I just thought there would be 80s or 90s model owners drumming up demand for the stock 16s.....Honestly they are pretty good lookin wheels....(jus not good enough for the W211)
