Euro drivers side convex side view mirror?
Left convex mirror glass part numbers:
A 203 810 03 21 and A 203 810 01 21
The "03" is heated and the "01" is not, otherwise they are the same.
The 203 number is a W203 number. The mirrors are the same for the W211. Both C and E Class cars have the same mirrors.
I bought my mirrors at a dealer in Sindelfingen. I don't believe the US dealers can get the mirrors.
Installation is very easy once you remove the mirror housing for which there has been good information posted on how to do this.

The 01 numbered glass is heated - just like all other MB mirror glasses...the 01 is NON auto dimming where as the 03 IS auto dimming.
W203 and W211 AUTO DIMMING mirror glasses are DIFFERENT...the 203 glass has an additional circuit board at the back of the glass and has 1 additional connector for the heating of the glass.
When using a 203 glass in a 211, the auto dimming feature doesn't work...when using a 211 glass in a 203, the auto dimming feature burns out immediately and the dimming liquid comes driiping out of the glass after a while - they are definitely NOT the same.
...as far as I know all US spec 211s come with an auto dimming driverside glass and thus one needs the 203 810 03 21 and those are approx 205 euro new from MB (205 euro equals 256USD).
We offer euro mirror glass sets for 180USD as long as our stock lasts...that includes the auto dimming driverside, non dimming passengerside and shipping per international priority post.
greetingz,
Just curious. Why would someone want the convex US drivers side mirror? While it does show a more panoramic view, the view is "distorted" and makes judging distance really hard. So what's the advantage? I don't remember, but I might prefer the old flat passenger side mirrors better too. Its been so long sing a US car has had them.

Convex shaped mirrors take away most of the blind spot next to your car...and do that without having to stick a second mirror glass onto the main glass

greetingz,
Actually should be called anti-blind spot mirror. The whole mirror is NOT convex. The outer Edge (approx 1.5") is curved. There is a dotted line etched into the glass so you know where the curve starts.
Also, I can confirm that 211 mirrors and 203 mirrors are not the same. I have a burnt 211 mirror if anyone is interested.

I've installed a pair of these, purchased from Steve. The driver's side glass actually appears to be mildly convex overall and shows a wider but smaller image, with the outer edge set at a different angle for still more wide-angle vision.
The new mirror completely eliminates the substantial blind spot of the stock USA mirror. By glancing to the left, a car alongside will either appear in the mirror or in my peripheral vision, with even some overlap. I agree that judging distance requires a learning period, but the major advantage lies in the fact that you can immediately determine if there's a car to your left or not.
I'm pleased with the mirrors and was very pleased with my dealing with Steve. Installation on our '05 was a simple matter of popping the originals out and pressing the new ones in and unplugging and reconnecting the wires for the heater and auto-dimming.

heads up...the US passenger side mirrors are not flat....
I know the passenger's side mirror is not flat. I find the smaller image size makes it harder to judge distances of surrounding cars. Thats why I asked why someone would even want to change the DRIVER's side mirror to convex & inreoduce the same problem. That's why the DOT USA hasn't permitted their installation in US bound cars.
MB probably makes US driver side convex mirror glass because in some countries that is the passenger side or their "departments of transportation" have permitted their use on the drivers side.
For my taste, the additional peripheral view is not worth the smaller= farther away image presented to the driver looking at the image.

BMW, Merc, and Porsche all have convex mirrors on the drivers side (left or right side)...everywhere but the USA
That is the type of government most Americans vote for. The "Big Government Will Take Care of Me, and Provide Everything For Me. I Don't Even Have To Think About Anything. The 'Rich People' Will Just Have To Have Their Tax Loopholes Closed, and Pay The Government More Than Half of What They EARN, So I Don't Have To" type of Government.
Like to purchase 203 810 03 21 if available for my 2006 C55 with heated, auto dimm
