Hi All,

My wife and I just picked up a CPO 2004 E500 wagon. It replaces a BMW 540iT that was recently totaled.

We looked at 3 cars: An Audi S6, Volvo V70R, and the MB which won out (requirements were a wagon, 300 or more hp, AWD, and under factory warentee). This is the first MB I have ever owned so I am new to the marque.

First impressions: There were a couple of things I liked better in the BMW: Better suspension, the BMW was better planted (could be tires...) - the BMW had the sport package, a few ergonomic things - stearing wheel... The MB has AWD which is a BIG plus - the BMW is usless in the winters out here. They both have great engines, and not so good gas milage...

I am new to these boards so I may find some answers when I finish searching, but what can I do with the suspension that will tighten things up a bit? how about the suspension in the E55 AMG - and good bolt on bits there?

TIA

Ray

What's up!

You said you have AWD, that means you have 4Matic.
That means you can't drop your car. Sorry bro.

Dang, on account of I want to be able to drive the car in snow, means I can't get the car lower? :-)

Oh well...

Pretty much from what I know.

You could try getting a body kit to make the car appear lower..?

I am thinking more from a handling perspective...

Aye.
Have you tried larger diameter wheels? The thing about 4Matic is although you *can* run staggered, it's not suggested.
