16" Rims for E320

So far every indication, european, mexico, and asian websites, show that the E320 comes standard with 16" wheels. However, nobody at my dealership can give me a definitive answer. If the 320 comes with 16" wheels, then I want to add the sport package to give me the 17" rims plus airmatic suspension. So now it seems that my 320 is going to cost me around $57k and I should just get the 500.

those were my thoughts exactly. i ultimately want an E55, but it may come down to me deciding between a 320 and a 500. with the 320 optioned out to where the car is enjoyable (airmatic, sport package, etc), it makes sense to get a 500 as some of those options are standard.

I guess if my 320 comes with 16's, I will just upgrade with something aftermarket. I really like this combination.

I just back from another Benz dealer and they gave me a preliminary 2003 E Class brochure that has many pictures but no real specifications. There is a picture of a U.S. spec E320 without the sport package and it looks like it definetly has 16" wheels. They look like crap. Every other picture in the brochure denotes E320's and E500's with sport package and you can tell that they are at least 17" rims.

ON the second to last pic, the wheels look so small in the wheels wells especially on the back wheels, where they look very undersized under that last 1/4 of the car's sheetmetal.

I found this picture of an E500 Elagance (non-sport & non-Aventgarde) being prepared for delivery. Notice that these rims are 17's with 245/45-17 tires. Wonder if these are the wheels that will come standard on the E500 here in the U.S. since the sport package w/ the solid 5 spoke wheels is an option.
