Lurch when switching tranny from C to S

If I am at a full stop and shift my transmission from Comfort into Sport, I feel a distinct lurch as it goes into first. You also hear it a little too. This is on my 2005 E500 with the 7 speed automatic. Is this normal?

Thanks!

Steve

My mom's E350 initially felt like it did that, but you eventually get used to the throttle, and IT adapts to your driving as well... remember that 1st gear in the 7 speed is VERY LOW.

If you take it to the dealer with that complaint they will re flash the tranny software.
It is a self adapting tranny so give it some time.

They state in the manual that you are supposed to be in park when you change it..
