Drove the 2003 E320!

On Monday I was at the Pocono race track for a Mercedes-Benz "training" event called OnTrack. The new W211 E320 was there (no E500), The 2003 C230K w/ the 1.8 liter engine and the new CLK (320 and 500). We had the opportunity to put a few laps on each of the cars on the infield road course.

The new E looks great in the flesh/steel! Very sleek and aero compared to the 210. I was a little concerned about the proportions and the look of back end but it looked great in person. I was only able to drive it for 2 quick laps but the initial impressions: The front suspension and steering changes are evident. Feels lighter and more nimble. Turn in is quicker and it feels like the center of gravity is lower. The sensotronic brakes are not as noticable, but that is the idea.
Interior is so much nicer. Much more of a rounded, organic theme to the inside.
I will be going to a full day training on the W211 on 08/08 and will post a full report.

Did the car you test have the sport package with the Airmatic suspension? I'm curious because I just added it to my order. And what size and style wheels did it have?

No sport or Airmatic

Sorry,

The cars (2) were both E320s with the same wheels you have in your avatar. No Airmatic (optional in 320, standard on 500).
They did both have the Panoramic roof which looked great. You could not really see it from the side of the car, but looked good from the rear and from inside. There were about 90 people there each getting about 5 minutes with the car. It was a "sneak preview". Sorry I was not able to get more info or pics. I will post more specs and info as it comes.
