Question Any "hidden" 12V outlets in the car???

Any hidden 12v outlets in the car or maybe not so much hidden as “out of the way” in other words with my 545 (E60 BMW) there was a live (albeit switched) 12V accessory plug behind a flap tucked way up under the front passenger side foot-well…if you didn’t know to look you wouldn’t find it…anything similar in the MBZ

I am only familiar with the obvious outlets…center console and between the seats for the rear

And while I’ve got you…how about a 12V outlet that is not switched...is there one in the car?

There's one in the trunk too. I believe that they're all switched.

Tesla
not all MY has the one in the trunk. It's on the left side, fairly obvious.

I wish there was one outside of the ashtray. I hate having to have it opened when I am charging my phone. At night the light from the tray irritates me.

If the trunk outlet is obvious, the '03 doesn't have one. Just like I don't have an AUX audio input in the glove box (but I DO have a cassette player, woo woo ).

The cassette player's one use is as an audio input, for those of us with an '03 and no AUX input in the glove box. We just completed a 2000-mile trip where we used our MyFi XM receiver almost constantly. The cassette player was actually better-located as an audio input than a jack in the glovebox would be. I ran the lead from the XM antenna on the rear package shelf so that it comes up between the driver's seat and the console and when the MyFi's battery needed to recharge, every five hours or so, I would plug the 12V adapter into the lighter plug in the console. We put the MyFi in the "ashtray." Having three wires going into the MyFi cradle was kind of messy, but at least they were all the same general location. The MyFi has an FM modulator/transmitter, but using the cassette player as an audio input sounds much better.

I think Elvis made his Sun Records debut on 78 rpm then in the 60's had it dubbed to cassette. Mercedes is SO QUICK to pick up on audio tech!!!

78 or 45's won't work there although (one of) Elvis' Eldorados did have a record player.

There is a power receptacle in the rear compartment between the front passengers' seatbacks, no? Will that do, or am I stating the obvious?

The AUX input, if you're fortunate enough to have one, gets the output of a portable/aftermarket audio device into the car's audio system without having to use an FM modulator or custom wiring. The devices might include a satellite radio receiver or an MP3 player such as an iPod.
