I’ve read tfm and I’ve done a search…probably didn’t read the manual well enough and probably didn’t search here l;ong enough…I’m sure “the answer is out there” having said that…maybe one of you can jump in here and help

I walked up to my car this evening (dark out) hit the unlock button once, maybe twice and the (trying to remember here) center two lights along with the fogs come on…very cool…but why? Hasn’t happened before I then realize that when I exited my car and turned the headlights off I inadvertently moved the switch to the “auto” position vs. “off”…I typically do not use “auto.” So I guess in the “auto” position this feature works and if the headlight switch is left in the “off” position it does not. Is that correct? What is this feature called? Does it only work at night (utilizing the cars light sensor)

TIA

Yes, a cool feature that only works in the 'auto' setting and when it's dark outside!

You can set it up in the MFD. It's called locator lighting.

its a nice feature...
Especially w/ the days getting shorter.

Only thing i don't like is you need to have the switch on auto, but i guess that's not a big deal. I wish they had a way to leave the switch on Auto and have your fogs on, that's not possible...So now instead of swtiching the dial to off, i just switch to auto...
