New Wood Steering Wheel
Ordered the wood steering wheel for the 2005 E320 CDI. Paid about $620 from the dealer. The install was a little more complicated. The dealer initially told me that when they took my old wheel off, they found that I had a heated steering wheel, so they couldn't put the new wooden wheel on, because it would " cause all sorts of fault indicators". I kind of mulled that over a little then casually asked him if, when I found out that you could install it, would they do it for free? He scurried back and got the shop foreman, who is a smart guy. He had figured out a while back that the initial install of my cell phone hadn't worked because the boxes weren't talking to each other the right way. One box thought it was still in Germany! Anyway, the guy comes back and tells me that they will be able to do it. However, whenever they plug in the Star Diagnosis, it will show a fault in the steering wheel for the heating element. Fine. Nothing shows up on my instrument cluster and it looks and feels great. They charged me one hour of labor. Now for the LED tailights!!!

JIM: about time you got that wheel put on! LED's next.. I think I've got you hooked! Did you price the 17" 245/45's? also Steve can do PTS for a mere $2000
btw.. is your wifes CDI going to get the same treatment?
