19" or 20" rims for '03 E500 Sport
I'm shopping for new rims. I'm looking at the HRE 540R's, 840R's and 543R's. I'm also looking at the Maya STM's.
Which of the above rims would you gus put on your car? 19" or 20"?
Do you know the proper offset to buy?
What tire setup would you go for? 245/35,285/30 or 245/30,285/25?
What's the word on the need to shave off part of the front control arm bolt to fit 20's on an Airmatic setup?
What do you guys think of ADR and Moven rims? I saw that these companies make knock-offs of the HRE rims.
Thanks for your help

I know I'm in the minority here when I say this, but I hate when rims get to big.. with the tire looking like painted on rubber. I'm in love with my 17's and while some may call them dimes.. I don't want to roll on quarters.. Nickels maybe..
I say do 18's, and if you want to go crazy 19's, but 20's will look very rice or hip hop, if that's the look you want, then pardon my assumptions.

I hve 19" rims on my E55 and the ride is not compromised much over my stock 18" rims. However had I goen with 20" rims I would not be able to sit in the car for 20 minutes without giving my *** a massage. Whatever you do dont get 20" rims.
With the 20" rims you will loose fuel economy, ride quality, decrease in performance, and decreased braking power due to a larger rolling mass and diameter.
Whatever you do, go with 19" rims.

I would do 19s. I find the W211 looks well balanced with a 19" wheel. 20s belong on larger Benz such as S-Class, SL and and CLS (I know its the same basic platform as E-Class, but the body proportions lend themselves to larger wheels)
