I dropped a V70 lease 6 months early, but I had a payment of $229/mo due to putting $10,000 down.

I tried to get out of an MBCredit lease in 02 when I was about half way done leasing an 01 E430. It didn't go well at all.....even though I had lost my job and tried to reason with them they told me that the only way to get out of the lease would be to make EACH AND EVERY monthly payment remaining till the end of the lease and yet turning the car in immediately. Obviously if I was going to be forced to make the payments then I would keep the car and so I did until the lease ended.

I had a 2000 ML320 that was a POS. It was leased and I tried to get out of the lease early. All I can say is hold on to your a$$. MBCC was very cut throat about the issue even though the ML I had was crap. I ended up keeping it for the term of the lease.

two ways to get out...
1-find out what the balance is that you owe (just like a loan) and pay it off...either from your own cjecking account or by selling the car
2-have someone assume the lease...you'll (or the buyer) pay a transfer fee and the new person will simply start making your same payment for the remainder of term...T&C's stay the same
