What is "Tunnel mode"?
I'll have to try it tomorrow and report back.
I saw nothing about it in the owners manual.
thanks HOH.
The closest tunnel to me is nearly an hour away and can't remember the last time I used it. Guess its one of the "little" things that makes these cars so damned expensive...
Also, this last summer, when I get in a hot car, I open everything and then after the A/C has done its job for a bit I then press this single button to get everything back to closed.
These are the little things that make a MB a MB, My uncles Lexus LS 430 doesn't have this, nor does any other car I have recently been in. Actually my uncle has been missing his 1999 BMW 740 IL, he likes the Lexus, but it is a bit too Vanilla.

OR maybe MBUSA wanted to hid it from us, since we Americans don't like techology and features like that in our cars
(Couldn't resist!)
are you sure? What's your build date? My April / 05 cars both do it.
I know that on the old W210s there was a button to turn on the filter, but it significantly reduced the blower speed.
As far as the "Tunnel" feature, you car has it! I think that you have misread the instructions or the posts.
All you have to do is have some windows and/or the sunroof open. Then with the key in the ignition or better yet, with the engine running, PRESS & HOLD!! the recirc button. After a few seconds of holding the button the windows will start to close. If you let go of the button it stops the process. After all is closed and the recirc button it lit, then you can press AND HOLD it again and it will open all the windows back to the position they were last. This also works on the 4-zone climate control head, I also think that is the only one that had an extra filter, but I might be wrong
I hope this helps, and tell us if it worked
