Ex Japan E500 in New Zealand.

Hi all,

I have an ex Japan E500 W211. With the TV I can tune it to some of our stations and hear the sound perfect but I get black/white scrolling lines with no hint of a picture.

In Japan they use NTSC or SECAM (def not PAL)? and here we use PAL. I was wondering if this is the problem. Can the TV controller be changed?

If anyone here has had success with ex Japan models and getting things to work, like the TV, then I would be appreciative of any help.

cheers

In Japan, they use a slightly different NTSC compared to here. You will need an adaptor to get it to work. However, due to the TV is in your car which limits the space you can install the adaptor. I don't know it would be practical for you to install it. You can check with your local specialty store that sells the adaptor. It may be more practical for you to change the TV.

Actually he needs a Japanese NTSC to PAL converter... might be hard to find.
