What is the lemon law?

I have had my car in the shop four times for the same repair. Each time it was returned to me the elusive problem wasn't fixed so it was almost immediately scheduled for repair again. One of my friends said something to me about the lemon law so I thought I would ask you guys. What is it and does it apply?

Check that out : From what I understood it has to be something that affects the safe operation of the vehicle 3 times within the first 12 months? Not sure though, and I'm sure it is different in most states. I wouldn't expect a simple "strange noise" or radio malfunction, etc. to be under the lemon law.

Since I have never fully researched it, I could be completely wrong.

Notice the law says "reasonable number of attempts". Wiggle room. Good luck.
