I joined the club. Love this car!

I've always liked the E-Class, but once I saw one with the AMG package (apparently now discontinued), I had to have it. I've been spoiled by several V8s and am very impressed with the power from the 350's V6.

Very nice. Two questions, though.

1. Is that some kind of a dealer badge on the right side of the trunk lid? Hope they didn't drill holes to attach it. I've never understood why people in other states put up with dealer badges and stickers on the paint of their cars; it's unheard-of in California.

2. Is that a Sirius antenna on the roof? If so, they've really gotten them down to a small and unobtrusive size; much better than the ugly black box of old.

Beautiful car! Get rid of that dealer applique though, if they drilled your trunk, they owe you a new one....you should not be advertising for free.

I second remove the dealer namesake....it gives your car the "Buick" look

and also, beware of that metal braket on the license plate. Every time you close your trunk it wears on the finish. Delete it now while you still have paint. Wax good under the tag, and replace it with a kinder plastic frame. I actually use rubber body trim available at body supply stores and adhere it directly to the tag. Then I affix the tag with stainless screws, grommeted by rubber 0-rings.

I remove my tag clean/wax under it every few months.

Obsessive, I know, but cancer sucks, automotive or otherwise!

The thing on the trunk is a dealer badge, and I was going to remove it myself, but they volunteered to do it for me when it goes in for window tint on Friday. I grew up in SoCal where dealers wouldn't dare affix such a thing and was horrified to find that they're typical here in Texas. Fortunately it's on with double-sided tape, not drilled. The dealer is Park Place Motorcars in Dallas.

I think they are talking about the tiny silver hump that is in front of the black GPS antenna.

I can relate to cleaning things, but my dealer put the frame on my rear plate in a very secure way. Also, you don't have to worry about rust "cancer" on the panel behind the plate, it is all plastic.

Welcome, Brady--Nice to see you here as well!

Yup, its me--Jim from RF. Still got the E500, but am REALLY thinking about an SUV!! Now that you're here, I wonder if you'll ever go back to BMW. Despite having 4 myself, including an E39 I just could not even remotely warm to the ghastly interior of the E60 5 series.
Anyway, welcome and congrats! Now, all we need to do is have a little E39 lounge fun here. Not too likely--this crowd is often, um, not quite so freewheeling......

Thank you, sir. We'll always have our lounge for discussions about Chuck's girly car, K-Bud's endless questions, and what Randy is having for lunch. I love this E350 and it feels great to be back behind the wheel of a Mercedes. It has been 5 years since I had my SL500 and about 8 since my 400E. I wouldn't switch the E350 for an E60 5-Series at half the price!

w211 with the OEM AMG package is a great spec for the clean and classy route. Are you going to do a set of wheels and lowering? Pretty much rounds the package out very well.

I like these wheels and the ground clearance as they are, so I'm going to leave it as-is. I always lease (business tax purposes) and never longer than a couple of years (call that 'Car A.D.D.'), so I can't justify spending money on any expensive mods.

I can certainly understand that, enjoy the car!
