Jasper Blue W211

Having just ordered my second Jasper Blue E320cdi I was wondering if anyone else had that colour. It was a special order both times and I have only ever seen one other W211 (a UK reg E55) in that colour.

Is this the Jasper Blue that you're talking about? (obviously not a W211!!!)

"Jasper Engines & Transmissions" is a vendor of rebuilt, well, engines and transmissions in the U.S.

Jasper Blue isn't currently an offered W211 color in the U.S., at least under that name. When you say "special order", do you mean that it was a custom paint job at the factory?

Yes it was a custom paint job at the factory. When I ordered my last one in '03 Jasper blue was a colour that was available in the c, clk and other models but not in the e-class. This time round the colour has been discontinued across all models as far as I know. However Mercedes were very obliging and had no problem in supplying the same colour again. I just hope this W211 is more reliable than my current one which had to be carried away on a tow truck 6 times, 3 turbos in 2 weeks and numerous other electronic failures. However I have faith in the brand and believe Mercedes have sorted most of the problems with the W211. I will try and take some pictures over the next couple of days and post them as soon as I figure out how.

Tornado- Posting pics isn't hard. Just make sure that you save them into a file with a standard extension like .jpeg, .jpg, .bmp, etc. Make sure that when you do save them for posting that you limit size to 800 X 600 (or is it 8.0 inches by 6.0 inches?) or that you can crop the image area to be posted to that size. When posting, clck on "Manage Attachment" in the lower area of the post screen, Browse, Select, Upload -- and voila!.

Everyone else - it is still possible, as far as I know, to special order any MBZ in any color that any MBZ has ever been in for an additional fee of ? (between $1000 and $2000 USD? less than $3000 USD). Somebody will post up the actual cost....

I think Jasper Blue is called Orion Blue in the US. Still not available on the W211 though. I have it on my wife's C203 SC. It's nice, particularly in bright sunshine.

wow, that's great news to me! That means that I might be able to get an E-class in the same Amethyst my C320 is in (but I'm holding on to my car for quite some time, it's going to have to get me through college)

Be forewarned, colors that aren't white/black/silver/gray are darn near nonexistent in America.

I helped my father-in-law get into a C280 for the "Winter Event." He was deadset on Mars Red. You would not believe how difficult it was to find one. I got to look at Netstar and there were only 3 Mars Red cars in the Eastern U.S. (out to Chicago), and they were sold. Nothing on the boat, nothing in the pipeline on Netstar.

It has become clear to me that Henry Ford is advising MB on colors...
