Insulation Pad

I'm Owener Of An E Class (march '05) And Some Days Ago I Found Out That Due To An Unexplainable Reason A Piece (size:about A Man Hand) Of The Insulation Pad In The Bottom And The Back Side Of The Engine, Approximately Just In Front And Below Of The Gearbox Lever , Was Cut. Do You Think That This Will Increase The Noise Into The Passenger Cabin? Is Possible Any Other Effect?

i'm having a hard time visualizing the area that you're describing. would it be possible for you to take and post a picture? it's hard to imagine the lack of a hand-sized piece of insulation anywhere having much effect on cabin noise, though.

Thank You Very Much Dwp For The Reply. I'll Try To Take And Post A Pic As Soon As I Can.anyway, Mb Engineers Told Me That The Most Possible Reason For This Thing Is To Be Cut By A Loose Cat.anyway,i Think You're Right, I Agree With You. It's Not A Big Piece Of Insulation Pad, So Normally There Is No Effect Concerning The Noise Into The Passengers Cabin.
