Adding GPS Module
I hear it is not possible to add GPS system to an E-Class unless it assembled at factory. I think I should be able to if I messed around a bit. Can anyone tell me if it is even possible. If so what do I need to have a GPS added to it. It seems to me like a plug-and-play interface, I mean the car has interface to every thing only (control keys, screen etc...)l, only the optional module is not installed. It is hard for me to believe that is not possible to add a module to what appears like a modular design.

Comand CAN be retro fitted to The W211...Just takes More work on the 2003s...Steve has done several Installs on The W211 without a factory installed nav system

...if your W211 is a ROW spec car (not US spec car) that has been assembled AFTER february 2003 - then your dealer is pretty much right...that is what they are taught.
However - like with all other options: (almost) everything can be retrofitted...it is just a bit more work...

Add GPS
Thanks folks... My car is a 2004 E-500 Black Sedan. It is not heavily loaded - I bought it in Jan 2004, at a time where 7-speed transmission was introduced to the E and all rich folks like you were buying them before they got to a port in the US. Anyway I was stubborn that I would buy a car only if it is on dealer lot and Philsmart Seattle (USA) called me after 15 days to be the owner of the best looking car in the world but alas, it did not have GPS on it. God I love it every time I look at its rodent-like eyes 
It is very relieving to know I can add GPS to it. Can you please give me more details as to where I can find the parts and how to add?
