01 CLK430 cab, Silver/Ash/Blk top: 2003 E500 On order Silver/Ash, Sport package
Questions about options, please advise

I really like these forums alot. They helped me greatly when waiting on the arrival of my 01 CLK 430 which took 18 months.

I spoke with my salesman here in Orlando this morning after the posting of the option prices. He was I think surprised that I was informed of these and after going into his computer discovered that the info I had to share with him was correct.

My wife and I decided to order a sport model after seeing the value. The salesman was unsure though of what it included, and advised me not to put alot of value in the photos from the non American sites, as they would not be the same features that we would have. Also the factory installed phone is a real plus for me, so I ordered it although was told that $1595. only included the phone and that a cd changer was an additional $400. Also if I wanted a voice activated phone, that was $1995. phone only plus $400. for the cd change. Is this accurate info??? and is the cd changer a 6 disc indash like featured in the mbusa site or a trunk mounted one like in my CLK?

Also has anyone ever seen the Drive Dynamic Seats??? What are they like. Last week my salesman informed me that he thought that they were like those in a Porsche. The Roccaro (sp) style, which unfortunately with the 2 ruptured discs that I have in my back, that style seat is not at all comfortable for me. I have the multi contour seats in my CLK. If the Drive dynamic are more comfortable than the regular seats with the multi contour option, then I would want to order them.

I really like my salesman, he has been #1 in sales here in Orlando many times. Unfortunately he felt that he may not have a complete picture of what the car and its options would be like or the MSRP, until after he returns next Monday from Jacksonville, where I think that they will have some of the new models on display and training for the dealers and salespeople here.

Thank You for your insights. I will try to post photos after the arrival of my new car which should be being built around the 1st of September and delivered to Orlando around October 10.

Talking a couple of answers

yeap it seems they have seperated the phone and cd so that they are no longer in a value package, they have been touting the fact the cd is only 400 now, but the voice activated phone hits you for 1995, which sux....if your going to get both spring for the voice activation though....

the drive dynamic seats incorporate multicontours AND inflate and deflate automatically to hold you tighter as you go around corners....this is a first for any benz model, not like recaros at all....

finally the cd changer is front mounted in the dash for the E

I really think the Dynamic Seats would be a neat option, if you are into gadgets. I not sure that the price of the phone is that out of proportion to what it is now. I have the K2c package on my CLK430 coupe and it incorporates the voice activated V60 Motorola phone with CD Changer & the price of the option was $2500. If the phone by itself is $1995 & the CD is $400, you are actually saving $5 over the option that I have on my car. So, if you break it down it is less than the MY02 option & I really recommend it if you are in your car quite a bit, just takes a little getting use to the way the phone works. Enjoy your car, it will be worth the time you have to wait!!!!

Dynamic Driver Seats

According to my saleman, the Sport Package for the E320 includes Dynamic Driver Seats. I orignially ordered Multi-contour seats, but if they're going to give me Dynamic as part of the Sport Package, then even better.
