settings on navigation

I am having some issues with my navigation. The map pointer keeps showing my car vearing to the right when i am going straight and many times shows my car on a street further right than where i am. Is there a way to change some settings manually? Thanks

I think that you need to adjust your NAV preferences. That is, whether you want the top of the screen to show true North (I believe that’s what you have selected) or your direction of travel.

Thanks for the reply, but that is not the issue. I have an actual problem with the nav working correctly. Many times it shows my vehicle on a different road then where i actually am. And this isnt something that happens on occasion, it happens often. I feel like the coordinates are off. And when my car is facing a certain direction, like say perpendicular to the road i am on, it shows my car pointing in another direction than where i actually am. Any other help is very appreciated. Thanks.

I think that your problem is caused by a faulty connection in your GPS antenna. Only the dealer can repair this correctly. I think that it will get progressively worse if you don’t fix it now. I remember a thread about this problem.

Unfortunately i put the navi in myself, which probably caused this issue, so i dont know if i can bring it to the dealership. Thanks for the replies thus far. If anyone else has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks

If I remember the previous thread correctly, the problem was in the rear window and not inside the car. If you have a good relationship with your dealer and if they are professional, they should not scapegoat the fact that you installed it and actually try and troubleshoot the problem.

Did you use the antenna splitter when you put in the nav? There is an antenna connection to the teleaid which need to be splitted off for the nav. Or if you don't use teleaid just disconnect it and connect to the nav drive in trunk.

It really shouldn't matter who installed it. It all OEM MB parts, going into the car it was designed to be installed into. They'll repair it and just charge you full labor. After all, if the unit's defective, MB will stand behind it.

Its not like you put an aftermarket unit in and cut & spliced all kinds of wires and left a mess for them to sort out. Your unit only installs one way.

Yes i did use the antenna splitter. I followed the directions here posted on our forum to install the unit. But ever since i did that the position of my vehicle shown on the map is different than where i am. I just feel like all i have to do is change the coordinates by a little bit. Its always off in the same direction.
