Yes, I have the same issue and I believe there is a post about this "stuttering at low speed and rev". I will be raising it with the techies at the next service as it doesn't bother me so often.

Same here
It happened multiple times with my '05 CDI. I didn't have it long enough to take it in for that. The '06 has yet to exhibit this behavior.
Good luck

I think I read something quite a while ago about this being normal and was related to MB's desire to avoid contamination of the catalytic converter that can occur at slow speed when engine is cold.
Since we don't have much cold weather here in Southern California where I live, I haven't had this problem in quite a while.

My version of the low-speed surging is a little bit like the "bucking" of a manual-transmission car that is in 3rd or 4th gear at 15 mph, and you try to accelerate without downshifting. My inference from that is that the transmission, for whatever reason, isn't downshifting at low speeds like it should. Of course, it isn't a manual transmission (alas; wouldn't an E500 with a MT be an absolute blast?) and so what's actually going on could be something entirely different. Also, my '03 has the 5-speed transmission, not the 7-speed, so what my transmission does has no necessary bearing on what your transmission does.

old post i know but used the search function and found this post which i am experiencing with my newly purchased 2003 e320.
Did anyone ever find the problem to this? My car has about 101k miles on it.
thanks

Transmission fluid
Let me leap to a conclusion and say I suspect it's the transmission fluid. Since the car is new to you, replacing fluids is not a bad idea even if I am wrong. Unless you know for a fact it's already been done recently.
Yes, there are other threads on this. For example:
https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ow-speeds.html
Your transmission fluid may be old and/or low. By now, it should surely have been replaced and the filter changed. Low transmission fluid results in bucking and lurching at low speeds. There could be other reasons or causes, too, but you could start with some maintenance.....
I suggest you get the transmission fluid drained, the transmission filter replaced and probably get the transmission flushed. You should also get the electric connector and gasket replaced at the same time, part number A2035400253.
If you get this done at a dealer or someone with appropriate diagnostic tools they should be able to check for more serious conditions. If you are lucky, the maintenance will do the trick. In any event, doing nothing at all would be a bad idea.

I would start by changing the air filter. The car "breathes" through it so it might be the reason why it is choking. Also, check if the catalytic converter isn't clogged.
Check your oxygen sensor as well, but if it is faulty it should record an error code in the board computer.
