Reached 10000 miles trouble free
What I really like about my car
:- strong engine with plenty torque to accelerate at any speed
- the 7 sp auto gearbox (have not experienced any of the problems recently posted)
- the appearance package interior ash leather/birds eye wood combination
- the airmatic suspension on Houston roads
- the nano paint stays beautiful with time
What I do not like as much about the car
:- the "cloth" door sills
- the apparently softer front window glass with some pitting (as discussed in one of the recent threads, but indeed expect the same for the main E-class "rivals" A-6 and BMW 5)
- cannot think of anything else
I wonder if something like this would do the trick for the door sills (applied over the cloth part of the sills):

I guess the issue would be:
- is it going to stay in place
- is it going to look OK.....
- is it going to "leak" air and make noise on the door rubbers
Any opinions/experiences?
So far carpet cleaner is doing the trick every so many weeks.
