Question Remus exhaust W211 need some input

I found this Remus kit for sale and can't figure out if it will fit on my 2003 E320 Sport. Can anybody offer any input and advice? I've tried searching online and in the forums already, by the way I am newbie so apologies in advance for writing anything that seems basic. Below is what was provided, the cost is about $550 and $95 for shipping. Thanks

Authentic, imported from Austria REMUS FULL left AND right side stainless exhaust system for the Mercedes E-Klasse W211 manufactured from 2002 on up. Engine applications include:

E240 2.6L
E270 2.7L

Once again, this is an authentic piece imported from Austria, and like other REMUS exhaust systems, is sound chamber tested and developed, known for exact fit, rich, throaty sound, durability and long life, and of course excellent fitment. According to the Remus catalog, this item is called rear silencer left with 2 tail pipes Ø 76 mm and rear silencer right with 2 tail pipes Ø 76 mm. Part # 509502 0504L AND 509502 0504R.

Anybody able to comment on this? Someones got to know about Remus or have it on their vehicle. In my research I have found two different part numbers that are supposedly correct for my vehicle and can't figure out which is correct.

509302 0504 - supposedly this is the correct one

509502 0504 - supposedly this is the correct one

Anyone know the difference? Anyone have Remus on their W211? Seems like the only hot topics on this forum are price of vehicle and lease vs. buy. Any help???

Remus

I saw the same eBay exhaust. You can go to the Emus website and sent them an email and they will respond or can can call your Mercedes dealer and ask. The important item to know is your engine size.

Well, I hate to assume a little bit and bring up the obvious but;

The E240 is a gasoline V6 and is a significantly smaller engine than the E320 V6. I seriously doubt that the engine block will line up at all (as far as manifold holes) with the E320 gasoline.

The E270 is most likely the popular European E270 inline-5 cyl. CDI. So you can also forget that fitting on a V6. The 2.7 CDI is what is in the Spinters (Dodge or Freightliners).

It is not worth getting stuck with something that will not fit your E320 and only fit on E class models that are not even available in the USA.

I might have misread your post, but the only safe thing to do is call the manufacturer and buy (if available) an exhaust that is specifically made for the E320 gasoline V6.

The reason there might not be one is that the E320 or E350 V6s gasoline along with the E320 I-6 Diesel are rarely seen in Germany since car registration taxes are dependant on engine displacement. Added to that, the tax per CC on a diesel engine is much higher than a gasoline. Most of MBs big engines diesel or gasoline are for out of Europe. (I did however; see a bunch of E320 CDI Taxies in France this August. They lifted the CC engine displacement tax I think).

I hope this helps,

Steve

Thanks for the insight. According to the Remus site www.remus-racing.com the 509502 0504 is the correct exhaust, at least thats how I read it. This is according to Mercedes > E Klasse (W211)> E320 Limousine & T-Model 3.2L 165KW, up from 02. There wasn't many other choices for the W211 E320, just a 4 Matic and 2 CDI models one with a 3.0L and 3.2L. I am going to assume this is the correct exhaust part number, as these other models also take the same part number, after all this is just two mufflers with quad tips that I am buying.

I haven't called the dealer but will, this shouldn't affect any of my warranty should it? It looks like this exhaust goes for around $1000 normally, correct? Now that the word is out that its on ebay good luck to all. By the way, the ebay seller never responded to my email on fitment.

C320 Coupe
I don't know if the E270 Diesel uses the same exhaust as the gas engine, but the E240 is the 2.6 gas engine that is also used in the C240. The 2.6L is a smaller version of the 3.2. I can't say for sure, but I would think the 2.6 and the 3.2 use the same exhaust.
