The 2007 gets the 5.5
The new E gets the new 5.5 382 hp as it's base V8 engine along with the rumored face lift in July, this is according to MB of Beverly Hills.

Should be a great engine.... Nothing wrong with those numbers.
I still remember when the W210 E55 AMG had only the 302HP V8 -- interesting story on that, BTW, won't share it over the internet - but I know the story about the guy who got so pissed-off about his E55 only having 302HP that he bugged his buddy, the A in AMG, about it for a year; and then for another year pursuing with AMG the adding of a supercharger to the motor. AMG came back with 'that will cost too much money to develop' - so he developed it for them! And voila - the supercharged 5.5 motor is born....
