Which Wheels?

I have the modest E200K. Thinking up spicing it up with 2 mods, i.e. Kleemann K-Box pulley kit and upgrade from OEM Elegence 16" wheels (which seem pretty undersized) to 17" or 18". Just wondering which wheels should I go for?

I have a few in mind (see poll). Opinions?

Also, what tyre size should go with 18" setup?

Thanks.

Carlsson 18" 1/16BE

AMG 18"

17" Avantgarde Style

Brabus Monoblock VI 18" Single Piece

I think the Carlsson looks cool and "unique". The rest are all too common looking including the AMG. Who makes the Carlsson rims and from what country?

Carlsson look unique

I think the Carlsson will look more customized than the others.
Are the prices similar, or will that affect your decision?

The Carlsson wheels are what we call "rice" in the US, meaning that you might see them on a Honda or Acura, but not on a Mercedes. The AMG or Brabus wheels are more appropriate for a Benz. But why should you care what I think? I'm just pixels on your computer display. Get the wheels that you like.

If you're just going to get 18" rims, I would stick with the AMGs. The others would look fugly unless they're 19"s, but that's just my opinion.

The Carlssons look nice, but like others have said, it's a little ricy. So my vote is for the AMG rims.

Thanks for the feedback. Never knew Carlsson is known to be ricy in US and more for Japanese cars? Always thought Carlsson is more an European tuner type, like Kleemann.

Prices for the 18" seems to be pretty consistent, around S$700 to S$800 per piece. The 17" SIR Avantgarde is around S$350.

But I understand tyre costs also plays a part. Seems 245/40-18 costs around S$400 compared to around S$250 for 17".

It's not they are ricy. It's that those particular rims look kind of ricy on the E. It's okay, but I wouldn't do it.

But it's your car. It's your opinion that matters the most.
