How to program radio pushbuttons

This is either too technical or not technical enough for this group. But we just bought a 2002 E-320 and darned if I can find out how to program the radio pushbuttons. I've followed the railroad diagrams in the manual and it seems to come up short with the final step--actually what to do to program a station...er...channel.

I'd really hate to go back to the dealer 50 miles away, besides he'd probably charges us $nnn to do that. I'd really appreciate it if someone could let us know what that final step is.

I'm assuming you mean the station presets.

1) Tune in a station of your choice.
2) Press and hold (until it beeps) the number button where you want to store it.
3) Repeat and rinse
