SRS Fail Light came on..
So I'm driving fat dumb and happy Sat to go pick up my new Mountain Bike and the SRS fail message comes up... so I call the dealer which is open Sat Morn and ask what to do.. she said bring it in Mon AM... and to just drive it, as it's prolly just a technical glitch and not a failure of the SRS.
Take it in this AM, and they say that the cables came loose and that it's a "known issue" and the part is on a 2 month back order.. Wow?
So we skimped on the SBC cables first, and now the SRS? Shame.. Shame.. all in the name of cost cutting!![wall](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/banghead.gif)
I am told MB learned their lesson with this new S.. time will tell I guess, but I sure hope they did.. sad that the world premier car maker was temporarily insane like this.![crazy](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/crazy.gif)
Note to all Lexus trolls: Still love the car!

So what cable came loose? If I'm in the wilds of Canada, I'd like to know what to do to fix it.
Also, does anyone know if there is a TSB on this problem so I can ask to have it installed the next time I'm at the dealer?
I'm almost attempted to take my old reliable 300E on vacation. It was 12 years before it had a problem that required me to take it to a dealer.

I have some extra bailing wire and duct tape if you want to borrow them. Hell, you can even keep them when your done!
I think we should plan a trip to Germany to pick up the parts. Some beer, some loud music halls, more food than we can handle, and some car parts...nothing finer!

there is no official recall guys, but I would recommend you take the car in and "claim" that it happened to you and then went away, as that is also a normal symptom.. mine just happened to come loose for good.. This way they can order the part which will obviously take a while, and at lest you can have the peace of mind of knowing you have the newer better part in, and not be a ticking timebomb for that SRS to fail when you need it... Didn't Dan's (Konigstiger) SRS fail when he was hit?

BTW, the part(s) are in critical supply and an associated fault code needs to be recorded (i.e.: SRS warning) before MB will reimburse the dealer.
Hey, was that you traveling east on Shea Friday morning?

I was in that area leaving my accountants' office. Were you in that silver CLS at the intersection of Shea & Tatum facing west?..

Actually 130th & Shea traveling west - just picked up my Dad from Fountain Hills and waiting for the light.
Fabulous shine! In fact that’s what drew my attention. So in putting it all together - the shine, the broad in the front passenger seat yelling at the driver

; the driver not paying any attention to the broad looking around at others as if to say “What the hell are you looking at?” with left arm rigid and hand gripping the wheel while waiting for the light
; and lastly the CDI badge in my rear view mirror I said to myself that had to be Sam. ![Wink](https://mbworld.org/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

BTW Dan, that was actually on Thursday morn... We were driving to the Bee Line to go up to Payson and check out Summer homes.. Since we didn't really get a proper winter this year, we're thinking it's going to be one hell of a summer this time!

Oooh, a threesome, I like it!
Just kidding!
I would love to. Disclaimer, though, I have wacky working schedules, I volunteer at my daughter's school, coach her soccer team (2x practice a week, games on Sat), and am 3 pages behind in the honey-do list!
Yes, yes, yes, I would be interested in the dirt on the X without nose gear incident. Mmmmmmmmmm......

There's nothing getting all hopped up on a latte, then pulling smoky burnouts in konigstiger's CLS at the parking lot entrance, followed up by some torquey tire spinning launches in CE750's diesel beast, to get a feel for the day!
