My Bluetooth Setup

I had this installed by a local car audio store.

And now for the damage. Both the wood and the piece bought from kudausa.com were damaged during the installation.

Dont tell me ... they wanted to see if they could do it blindfolded.

Holy molly. Is that a toggle switch .... very Mustang I must say. I guess you will be placing an order with MBENZNL .....

Wait till you see what they did to your dashboard. That's when you will discover new four letter words, ones made from other four letter words joined together.

Have it removed. Fix the damage and buy a Mercedes bluetooth kit for MHI.

Well it's a little too late for that. I just dropped $400 for this not knowing that it was going to be so ghetto. They are going to replace the wood piece but they are still debating whether they are going to replace the Kuda piece since they did not supply it.

If you are asking for comment, my reaction is that is an ugly thing you have done to your car -- even if it had not damaged the wood.

Agreed with the ugly. Get the thing taken oyt and your car repaired. Eat the $400 for trying something so outlandish. Dude, you have a nice car (or did). i hope you have not allowed other ghetto fabricators do things to that car.

I did not expect it to come out this way. I was posting this because it came out so horrible and I will definatly never do business with this company again. I have told them that I am unhappy with the results and that it does not look like it belongs in a car like this. As for what I am going to do now, I have no idea.

Where did you go to ? There's virtually no good shop around Bean Town that can do a good job on high end cars.

I went to a place right in North Attleboro called Curry Audio. I had gone there before for a different phone installation in another car and they were great. Turns out that they are now under a new ownership and I guess things have changed.

spend the money to make your car look better, not for function. personally, I'd rather have no cell phone at all than a crappy e class.

Nice to see North Attleboro represented. Moved from South Attleboro about 14 years ago and get back up quite often. The whole family (wife's side and mine) are still there. Next trip up is for Easter.

Go Red Sox.

Personally, I like the drywall screws that they used to attach your phone clip to the kuda mount. Nice touch.

I am a bit confused, though. You spent $60,000+ on the car, but removing that $400 worth of junk is "dropping a huge amount of cash"?

Our Motorola Bluetooth was installed very neatly on the console left of the shifter. Very neat and the piece was attached with 2x sided tape. Works nicely for an aftermarket unit

I was not saying that the $400 was huge amounts of cash. I was saying that I do not want to drop huge amounts of cash on a new setup. So if you have any ideas then I am willing to hear them.

haha yeah right...Now I don't know much about how the car electronics are set up, but they told me that they could not tie into the system because it is all fiber optics and therefore they had to run it to a constant power supply. Thus the tacky toggle switch.

THe money you save now will be deducted from the resale value. So its like putting up with an idea for the sake of not having to redo it, then paying someone to redo it later and never having it done for yourself. COOL.

What's next, a CB radio right next to it?

Bad install, bad, bad, bad, bad.

Just my opinion, not slamming you personally.

Wow! cannondalemtb, I hate to sound negative, but I have to agree with the other members here. That has to be about the worst install I have ever seen! The fact that they damaged your trim (not to mention the Kuda piece), the fact that they used a "cheap looking" toggle switch, the fact that they used what looks like dry wall screws to attach the phone mount, all tell me that whoever did this had NO IDEA what they were doing. There is NO WAY I would accept this installation, and would DEMAND a full refund on it, along with the cost of repairing my trim AND the Kuda piece. Just because they did not sell it, does not give them an "out" into repairing/replacing the damage that THEY caused!. If they are uncomfortable with installing items that they do not sell, then they SHOULD NOT DO IT.

Seriously, get you money back, get that ugly thing out of there, and get the money to repair the damage. Then look for a company who can better install what you want, and who will stand behind what they do.

I wish you the best of luck.

You guys are takin me the wrong way. I fully agree with you all. I am currently waiting for the new trim piece to come in and then I will work somethin out with them. Until then... it's tacky.

I've got no issue with this. I just think that the job was unacceptable, and that they should refund you your money so you can get it done someplace else. I certainly wouldn't trust them to "try again". That job they did looks like it belongs in a Jeep CJ or something, certainly not in a Mercedes. I am just advising you to not let them talk you into anything else, and to not accept their excuses as to why they shouldn't pay for a new mount since they ruined the other one.
