100,000 Miles
Motor mounts (95,000)
Ball joints (80,000)
Third brake light (80,000)
Everything else was expected. I had the brakes and Rotors replaced at about 70,000 miles as well and I am on my second set of tires. The first set lasted about 60,000 miles. The ball joints and motor mounts were covered under the extended warranty so I guess I broke even on that. I bought the 1 year extended warranty and paid 15% under list (about $1,400 IIRC).
Oh, I am kind of hoping that Steve makes his way back east again. I'm thinking about Parktronic.
I bought a 3 year extended warranty because I don't drive it that much. My engine mounts were replaced during the first few months because of the vibration and noise. Thanks for the feedback.

Congratulations on hitting 100Kmiles. I also have an '03 E320 (build date 1/03, bought 3/03) but only put 54K miles on it -- still got a long way to go!!
Surprised about the motor mounts failing. The way the streets are around New England (all the potholes from the snow plows), I'm not surprised!
Best wishes for the next 100Kmi.

I did not have any service done outside of those intervals with the exception of warranty or recall work. I did not change the recommended services either. For the first 50,000 miles the service did not cost me anything.

John, might I suggest a press release to the Associated Press to counter all the negative crap spewed?
I bought my car around the same time as you and have just over 13,000 miles on it. I put 100,000 miles on my last Mercedes, and it took me 17 years to do it!lol

It's good to know that your O2 sensors didn't need replacing. I've heard of people having to replace them at 50K mi in many other cars, and Bosch make a majority of these sensors (I know NGK has a good market share also).

O.M.G..... and you didn't even have catostophic engine falure by doing so. L.O.L......
Now why aren't we hearing from all these non believers in FSS with their wasted 5,000 mile oil changes????? I always said it was a waste of money and still do. cheap insurance or not, you won't see me wasting my $$$ or time.
The debate in buying a car for me with my commute, is whether to buy something comfortable and nice or something small and fuel-effecient. I opted to buy a Benz rather than a fuel-effecient small car. That said, I average about 28 miles per gallon.
My morning commute is about an hour and mostly highway speeds. The return trip is more like an hour and half and includes some stop and go on the highway (Route 80).
The longest one-way commute was 5 hours in the snow, but that included waiting for a fallen tree to be removed from the road. I would probably still be there if a second tree hadn't blocked the road as well and trapped a police car between the two trees.
Today, the mileage is 100,401.

That's unbelievable! How often do you drive it? A lot of vacationing?
