When installing a euro headunit..

When installing a euro headunit..
as per that ebay auction thread, it says that the DVD player wont work if driving over a few miles per hour. Is this true?

I thought that happened only for the US units. Try asking Steve at MBenzNL for a more definite answer. good luck

as per the above auction, it says the euro unit will shut uff after 4mph. Any truth to this?

Euro Units
Do indeed shut off over about 4mph. Sound continues and picture fades to a message about not distracting you.

Subject of disabling the fade out is frequently discussed at www.mbclub.co.uk. I get the overall impression that early 211 Comand units could be overridden to display on the move, but that later units cannot. This is only what I gather from reading the threads.

Knowing that you are located in MD, it would mean that you would have to send the unit to us (after you get the Euro unit, that is)... Or you can purchase a Euro DVD comand from us, WITH DVD while in motion enabled already.

does the installation of the euro comand involve touching the stock amp or wires? been thinking about puttin in another amp and subs. isn't the unit pretty much plug and play?

Retrofitting the Euro DVD comand in dash only requires swapping the head units... No touching of amps and such are involved.
