Retro-fit of air suspension possible?

Hey,

We have had huge problems with the rear suspension of the car since we got it. Noise over all sorts over bumps, big and small, have been occuring countless times and it has been replaced and fitted with new parts about 5-times now.

The noise has just occured again and its going back to the shop again

Is it possible to have air suspension retro-fitted to an E? Obviously at Mercedes expense. But more importantly, is it do-able?

Thanks

W203 slightly modified
I spoke to AMG in Germany recently on a number of technical matters and it costs 5 times the factory price for AMG to do it.

That being said ... if you want it done it can be done. But to pay that amount of money is . If you have that kind of money to spend then look into the cost of dumping the car you are in and getting one with the options you want.

It would take about 2-3 weeks to get your car back once it is booked in and it can be done in Sydney but I doubt anyone would do it or pay for it to be done regardless of how perfectly it could be done.

Have you considered taking it to Marshalls or Illawarra Star (Benz dealers).

Okay, thanks for the info.

Well I think its definatly worth a claim when purchasing our next Mercedes Benz (CLS).

We get ours serviced at Morrisons (Hornsby) mainly because of the close relationship we've had with our service guy since 1994. Its just a shame he can't get his guys to service the car well enough!!

It was he himself who told us that when purchasing our next MB, he could print out a list of the amount of problems our car has had....MANY (no SBC surprisingly). And basically 'demand' either compensation through or maybe consider asking them to give us airmatic free of charge with the CLS.

Is asking them to install airmatic free of charge too much to ask? It is a reasonable solution because by default, the suspension on a base CLS350 will be exactly (?) the same as what we have on our 240 Avantgarde. We just do not want a repeat and we think its fair.

Thanks again for the info.
