First Service
First Service
I have a '04 E500 w/9500 miles on it and it's going in for service in the morning. It'll be the first time it's been in since I got it in July '04. Anything I should ask to be done besides all of the recall updates?

Xabo,
There are many DTBs written that address issues that an owner could potentially complain about -- some examples are the SBC making annoying noise, wiper blades needing adjusting, front brakes squeaking due to springs, etc. MB will (hopefully) take care of any Recalls and service Campaigns (e.g., changing the voltage regulator on your Bosch alternator). If you have any complaints, bring them to MBs attention -- there may be an existing DTB to remedy the problem.

Thanks for thr reply. Since I haven't driven the car much, I haven't experienced many of the problems you speak of. I'll tell him about the problems you've mention, and tell him they can keep the car for a couple of days to fix any and all problems that are found.

In my experiences with my MB dealer, unless I complain about something, they won't pursue it. Under warranty work (like changing your oil at 9500 miles), they will get your car in and out as fast as they can. If you have legitimate complaints about stuff, let them know. Dealers make more money on non-warranty service than warranty service, so they're not going to tie up a tech on your car. Those items I mentioned may or may not be applicable to your VIN. Good luck.
