Thanks

IMO the bolt-on tips look cheesy on the W211. The only setup that looks good is cutting the bumper and getting real mufflers like the AMG muffler/tip combo.

Well that figures lol. I trust your experienced judgement here, so thanks. But was really gets to me is the second mod I am trying to do is a real pain in the butt--. Cutting the bumper is way too much for me.

IRONICALLY it sounds like the same difficulty in trying to get SAT radio in my car.

GRRRRRRRRRR

I've seen 2 members here post threads about cutting their bumper. CalBenzo and ???, but both came out really nice!

I still prefer the look of the AMG bumper, however. Currently looking for an E55 owner looking for an aftermarket bodykit/exhaust, so I can buy their stock setup.

IMO, I think leaving our bumper stock looks much better than adding those aftermarket, clip-on chrome tips.

I thought I wanted the tips as well, I ordered them and once they arrived knew right away how bad they would look. I never even test fitted them, they went straight to ebay. I did the cut-out, do a search and you'll find my instructions and pics. It's really not that hard, just need a Dremel and will really help if you have access to a lift. I still have my template if you want, PM me your fax # and I'll send it over, it was used on a Sport bumper for single tips.

I'm glad you posted. You're the second member I referred to as "???" in my post above. LOL...at any rate, both you and CalBenzo did a great job

I still prefer the subtle styling differences from the E55 rear bumper. Our bumper seems so "straight" and plain.

I bought a set and thought they look nice from behind, but weird from the side. Plus they rattle and I didn't want to spend the time to adjust it. So they're setting in garage until I find time to put them on ebay.

You can consider brabus dual's for w211, i have my on stock bumpers, it sits perfectly, plus it sounds great.. performance wise im sure it makes a slight difference.. u can purchase new one for under 2000 these days, install 300-400, not so bad~

please dont get bolt on tips, they look like crap. you might as well ad gold fender flares and curb feelers.

The brabus ones look like crap too, just not quite as crap as the regular bolt on ones. You want it to at least appear that the tips extend all the way back into the muffler
