2005 E-500
Red face First Full Service

As I do not commute any longer, I have only 8,500 miles on my E-500 purchased last February. I thought that I read that the first service was due at 13,000 miles or 1 year, which ever came first.

So, I called my friendly dealership today to set up an appointment. I was quickly informed by a nice young lady that I had to wait for the "service notifiication" indicator to go on in the car, prior to having service performed. She said and I quote: "If you came in without an indicator light on, they would have to send you home". I don't think I have been sent home since the 2nd grade and that was a mighty ago time ago.

Thought the board would enjoy the humor in this exchange.

At home, waiting for the light to go on.

Raining in San Francisco (nothing new as of late)

Might I suggest that you suggest retraining?

For Model Year 2005 vehicles
The Mercedes-Benz Maintenance Plan makes caring for your 2005 Mercedes easier than ever. The service intervals are fixed and predictable - every 13,000 miles or one year for most vehicles.

BTW you were sent home? I was never that lucky, the nun just sat me in the closet.
