Stole pics from a bunch of different posts...what do you guys think? I've been tempted several times to give this a go on my car...and at this point I think I'm going to give it a try...my same 19" wheels only with black centers and chromed lips...figure if I dont like it I can always switch back...with my pano roof and my newly tinted windows I think the black wheels might just pull it all together....we'll see

The car looks great but I prefer silver wheels on a silver car. Chrome would be my second choice. My problem with black is it makes the wheels sort of disappear. You can't really see what style the wheels are...unless you're right up on the car. Sort of looks like an empty space in the wheel well. Chrome or high polih lips help but something very shiny is needed in the center to bring them out. Maybe some highlights of silver on the sides of the spokes. That might look too ghetto or rice though. Just get silver or polished wheels to be safe.

I just got my wheels refinished in a medium charcoal. I think it looks better than black. black is a bit played out now on white/silver cars. charcoal metallic turned out well. good balance between being clean and a bit sporty

A mid tone looks much better on silver...Grey,Charcoal, etc... Mine are painted the color of the the "IWC"AMG CLS55 exterior.. Dark Grey Titanium Metallic.

However, as most of us here agree: to each his own.

I agree!...I never liked black wheels.....visually, they make the car seems "hollow"--can only see the body and no wheels to accentuate w/ the rest of the shape.....unless, only w/ a black-painted car.

Can't say I like them. But then again, I have never been a fan of darkly painted or chrome rims for that matter. Even the finish on the E46 M3 wheels bothered me at first.

Not personally a big fan of black wheels - but it is an "in" look for a lot of people.
I do like the idea of a metalic Charcoal and I'm waiting to Brav's pics, as I would like to maybe do the charcoal. Not only is it potentially clean and classy - but with all the brake dust at least my wheels won't look so dirty a few days after washing & polishing them.
Get some pics up Brav...I like the sound of the gray/charcoal wheels.

I am really glad you started this thread because I have an 03 Brilliant Silver E500 sport and am really stuck on what wheel upgrade I will go with. To answer your question I have to say the black wheels look ghetto to me. Hope your not offended.

Keep this thread alive. Hopefully I will find a wheel that I like. Haven't seen squat yet, and I cant wait to throw 19" on my ride.
