Question Brakes are squeaking bad at 8k miles...is there a fix?

too lazy to search right now...im sure this has been discussed many times before...so my apologizes in advance for not searching...

deal is I have a 2006 e350 8k miles and the brakes are sqeaking like my dad's benz's of the late 70's/early 80's used to (every time you brake "squeeeeeeak" / no indication on the dash that the pads are worn...is this a service item, a warranty item or just an item I need to live with?? TIA

See your dealer, there is a new DTB referencing a new pad design to lessen the squeal.

06 e350 will already have the new rear pads as they were introduced in JUL04 however, you could reference P-B-42.10/51d DEC05 Front Brake Squealing / Grinding Noise – modified pressure retaining spring, piston damper, and brake lining.

Note: even if your vehicle already has these modified parts MBUSA will pay the dealer to install new pads and/or rotors cost free for the first 12000 miles. BTW, if the dealer gives you a song a dance over this, get your MBUSA SPOM (Service & Parts Operations Manager) involved!

Copper grease

Maybe I'm being silly, but is it not just a case of applying some copper grease to the discs?
