I got a used pair of Halogen HL from a member and didn't notice any retaining springs, there were no bulbs installed and didn't see any spring clamps. Is it like this or is there supposed to be spring clamp like the H4 bulbs?

H7s on W211 mount in plastic holders that fit with 1/4 turn. It's not easy.

The bulb holders must be rotated counter-clockwise (when viewed from the passenger compartment) to be removed. This does require some manual dexterity to be able to hold and twist the bulb holder. The bulb can be pried out and pressed back into the holder without twisting.
