airmatic rear shockers

Did anyone here have any problems with the airmatic shock absorbers? Mine started leaking oil ( the ones in the rear), I just noticed them at 16000 miles. Maybe they've been like this before. Have there been a recall for these?

Yup, with less than 10K miles I had to have both rear struts replaced on my '03 E320 because they were leaking fluid. No problems the last 20K miles.

MBUSA P-B-32.22/15 MAR03 is the only Airmatic bulletin I’m aware of and addresses low ride height at one or more suspension points after the vehicle has been parked at cold temperatures.

Shouldn’t be a problem having them replaced under warranty though.

Yes, had RR replaced at about 30k. They found the leak when they had it up to replace leaking differential seals.

I don't know how much warranty you get on your cars, but here we only get two years. The funny bit is that I had complained about noise coming from the rear of the car, dealer was claiming that it is the jack that was rattling, and when they eventually found out about the shockers, (because I was still complaining) the warranty had run out by four months. I have now wrote to Mercedes Germany, who promised they will pass my complaint to my dealer, and will follow it up. What will you do in a situation like this?

MBUSA warranty: 48 months or 50,000 miles whichever comes first.

Any respectable dealer should honor a goodwill repair four months after warranty expiration especially since the repair process for this particular problem began under warranty. Certainly, if documentation supports your explanation, MB would have no choice but to agree. Keep MB in the loop.
