How are we famous, he doesn't mention MBworld at all.....just that he read that other people had this problem. His link also wants to charge $10 to see a video re changing the struts.

Sorry Clayton, I missed both of those

For my car, a major job as video describes removing complete exhaust, drive shaft, brake calipers and cross member. Yikes !

I actually JUST finished an hour ago, buttoning up a front Arnott replacement on my 211. Remember when those were 1500.00 a corner and had to be done at the dealer LOL!

Now, I have my own SDS, could deflate, fill, balance pressure across the struts all by myself, and the strut was only $368.00 shipped! The arnott replacement video that they published actually came in handy....

Love having my own SDS... especially the developer mode.

So I'm having the same problem as you the "dead body in the trunk" sound. And you said previously that your mechanic reckon that all the the w211 4-matic makes that sound, then I realized that there a video fix for this problem, by chaging the rear shocks.so am a bit confused what to do change them or not .

Is definitely not the shocks!!! I just finished installing my coilovers and I thought I have left something loose..so the next day went back and double check everything and it was all normal.. So then I decided to put more resistance on the spring thinking the spring was bouncing hitting to the top of the frame..and nothing the noise is still there... Tomorrow am gonna light the car on fire and find out if it continue!!😂😂

Same with me bud. Had the noise and figured I will wait to put the coil overs in and if its still there chase it. Guess what...still there. What I did find is the softer shock settings its very slight with the noise so its something with a stiff setting and moving around somewhere making the noise. Its getting real annoying considering I removed the sway bar aswell to find it. Everything is very tight and mint under the rear so I think it has to be the frame bolts , mounts or the frame moving around.
