I also test drove E500 today
Actually both E320 and E500. The summary is ... the new E is a winner.
I still think enginewise, my BMW's I6 is smoother than the engine in E320, and the handling/road feel is better in current 5 series (but again, all E's I drove today did not have sport-package ... :p ).
But as an overall package, the new E is .... sexy, beautiful, luxurios, awesomely finished, highest quality, etc...etc... The details, seats, leather, instrument placement, electronics are carefully designed. Interior-wise, I think MBZ has toppled Audi this time. And it has 4 real usable cupholders
(If you have been inside the 5 series, you know what I am talking about).
It's so quiet ... and I concur with the other post, E500 is fast.
