simple question. Chirp when locking, not working

simple question. Chirp when locking, not working
It just stopped beeping when I lock the doors. Not sure what made it stop, but I would like it back. Ideas?

Not an answer to your question, but when did W211s start vocalizing when you lock the doors? Sometime after MY 2003, I take it. Locking and unlocking the doors is silent on my '03, except for the "thunk" of the lock mechanisms.

I had to pay the dealer to activate it on my 3/04 build E320. He charged me $30. It may have been activated from the factory on later models.

The dealer has to program it to the netherlands setting for the audible alert. Kinda weird how it would just stop working for you 2manytoys. Was anything done to your car prior?

nothing was changed, and I havent been to the dealer in a while. I just noticed that it stopped chirping.

Gettin' the "silent treatment", huh?

Yeah, I get that all the time.. and I never know why..

..and it always ends up being my fault..

..for something I may have done months ago that I don't even remember anymore.. ..

..Oh, but she remembers!!! .. .. ..

2004 CLK500, 78 6.9,
In my W209, my alarm module (which also does the beeping for lock/unlock) got wet somehow, and it was replaced by the dealer under warranty. Perhaps that module has a problem?
