03 E320
Im in the market for a preowned e class. I'm looking for one thats under 30 grand. Is the 03 e320 a good model to pick up, or should i go after the later years. Thanks in advance.

was '03 E320 - now - '04 S4
Speaking as a former owner of an '03 - Barry is right. When it comes to the W211 - the newer the better.

03 E320 -wife's car now; 07 Porsche Boxster S - my toy
I bought my 03 E320 new, and it's been fairly well behaved. If I had to buy a used one, I agree with Barry and Lig -- it wouldn't be an '03.

I will advise you to research the heck out it before you buy (all maintenance actions). Good luck...

For what it's worth, I have an 04 E500. Other than a few minor warranty issues it's been a superb vehicle.

I have a 03 e320 Nav replacement, and have had only one electrical problem that was fixed. Aren't the 03's w/Nav the only ones that can play DVDs on the nav screen while driving (357 trick)?

I think you may be limited to '03 models if you want to keep the price to $30k. The problems that some people have had with the '03s have depressed the price somewhat.

sold - w211 e320, f250, rx7 race car
No major service history and no major complaints on my 2003 E320, then again it has only 20k miles on it and it's still under warranty until next April. Mine is a 1/03 build date.

I haven't been following prices but just looked on ebay at 2003's, damn they have gotten cheap. That was depresssing....

I saw an '03 E500 in the local paper (Seattle Times) last week for 29K. Didn't specify mileage etc... but that sounded really cheap to me.
