Need help with correct operation of A/C..06'E350 Please...
You will note of previous thread on trouble with the a/c in my 06' E350.Sometimes the center vents on the dash close off and do not work when the a/c is in auto mode. This usually happens when driving down the freeway. At this point I switch it to manuel mode and adjust the system to get air from the center dash vents. I believe this should work. But, I still do not get air from the center vents.....
My dealer is telling me that there is nothing wrong with the A/c on this car and that this is the way it is designed to operate.
How many of you have a system that works in this way?
How many of you have center vents that shut down when the A/C system is in auto?
How many of you have center vents that shut down when the A/C system is in manuel?
Any help from the crowd is greatly appreciated!
I will add that the exterior temperature is between 85 and 100 degrees. Low humidity.
I have had my W211 for three years now and I have never experienced this, why should your center vent go off when driving on the freeway?? Yes it automatically adjusts the vents in automode but i doesnt turn them completely off. Sorry to say but I think your dealer is giving you a shaggy dog story.
A guess would perhaps be a defective duo-valve? Good luck with your car.

Shah

air out of the center vents. If I switch to manuel mode I have very little
air coming out of the center vent. The air comes mostly out of the side vents. Dearler says "everything is working fine". I would think that the auto and manuel system would work the same when trying to cool the car down after sitting in the AZ. sun for a few hours. It seems to cool better using the auto mode. If I have the fan on all the way in manuel I do not get the same air flow out of the center vents. Any words of wisdom?
