Do I have active cornering Xenons?
I purchased my 2004 E500 used. I recently called MBUSA and asked them to send me a copy of the original window sticker, which they did. I'm looking at it and I see that my car has the 422 Appearance Package, which I knew. But it lists Bi-Xenon cornering lamps as part of that package. I know that the newer W211's have active cornering xenons but I didn't think that was available on 2004's and mine doesn't list the word 'active' only cornering Bi-Xenon.
So I took the car out tonight and I think I see them turning when I turn the steering wheel at or above 30 mph. But they don't move left and right at a standstill. Now, I might be imagining them moving since now I think I have them.
So, was this part of the 422 Appearance Package in 2004 or have I been smoking too much crack?
Mmmmmmmmm, craaaaaaaaaack

Just checked and my build date is 03/04. Good to know that I haven't been smoking too much crack. But can you really EVER smoke too much crack?
My window sticker doesn't mention "active curve illumination" and it's not noted anywhere in the owner's manual. Maybe, my owner's manual was printed before they started adding the cornering lamps? I don't know...
As you already found out they are easily seen moving left to right when the wheel is turned and as konigstiger pointed out, they only move while the car is in motion and will move faster according to your speed.
Awesome feature, Gotta love them on the back roads home.
btw, benzorama, is there anything special in order to get the window sticker from MBUSA? I'd like to get a copy of it myself... any info is appreciated, thanks!

It was a peice of cake. I just called MBUSA and asked them for it. They asked me to fax them my registration, which I did, and I had it like a week later.
Couldn't have been easier.
Love these headlights. Now I can see myself trying to find critters in the woods as I drive down back roads.
thanks for the MBUSA 411
