I just tinted my car for 185 with lifetime warranty. Just make sure the guy who does it tints it all the way to the top and uses good tint film like LLumar. Thats what the guy used on my car it looks so good. Its a bit annoyin at night tho when theres no street lights but its ok b/c i like driving with my windows half way neways.
Tell your wife it keeps the car cooler, blocks out 99% UV rays, all the celebrities have it so why not g luck

The E320 was tinted within 3 months
of purchase and the car has shades!! Anyway, we paid $190 in the DC area for lifetime tint at 35%. My wife originally thought the windows were "too dark", but the car is black/black so it will look darker.
She cant be happier (neither can I). Shop the price, sometimes detail shops partner with tint shops, so a good detail shop may have a recommendation (that's what I did).

Not sure what part of SD you're from. I live in Chula Vista and I am planning on going to this one shop on Bonita Rd, across the street from a Jack In The Box. I'm not sure what their shop is called but there are always some pimped out cars parked in front so it must be pretty good. My friends had their Audi A6 and Lexus IS done there for $200/car, all around. I was told they did a really good job. I haven't seen it but I trust their word.

I'm also in the same delima, i was schedule to bring her in for a tint then they conflict my appointment with another so I never had the chance to bring her in again. It's been months now and I'm back to debating. 
Winter is coming anyways, I have another year to think about it. Places in NorCals are rip off anyways. Only one place I found to do it under $200. Every where else is 225-280, some idiots quoted me like $450, I laugh @ him and gave him the finger.
Don't know of any cheap but good tint shop around here.

I hope this is a joke. Mayby you just married the wrong woman!!!. I don't remember anywhere in the marriage manual that it suggest a WIFE tells a husband what to do - expecially when it comes to a CAR!. 4 wheels and a motor is man's last bestfriend in this world and I'm sorry to hear she has taken that from you also - just for wanting to get windows tinted!!!.
