E320 or E350?

E320 or E350?
Well the ML 320 is going to be phased out soon for the upgraded ML350. I know this is a new E coming out but do you think this will happen in the E-Class to? Any ideas on time?

In Europe, the new E-Class is being offered with the 2.6 litre motor offered here in the C240. I wonder how that car would go over here? Too under-powered I bet. I read it only has 174 BHP. With that heavy a vehicle, it would be slow. But it could be an interesting option.

I bet the 3.5 liter motor will be added to the W211 & W203 in the US at the same time. Is that for the currant W163 or the next M-Class? That is the upcoming direct injection motor I believe. Speculation for the next engine is model year 2005.

I agree with your 2005 prediction.MB are introducing the 350 engine in the updated S Class and will use that as a marketing advantage over the E.
Usually after a good few years they will then improve the model with some updates and bring in the new engines.
