Smart Key ????
hey guys quick ???? i have a 03 w211 w/ a smart key. my ??? is, my key batt is going bad how do u change the batt, and will it reset all of the settings on the key??/?

1. Remove the valet key from the Smart Key housing.
2. Use the tip of the Valet Key to push up on a plastic tab which is located in the now empty slot behind the ribbed valet key release on the heel of the smart key.
3. Now the entire back (heel) of the smart key will slide out of the smart key housing. Look at the seams on the key to see how the parts slide together & will separate.
4. The batteries will be stacked on this slide out part of the key.
5. No settings will be lost anywhere. Don't mix old & new batteries.

Thanks Barry45RPM. I printed out your instructions. My batteries are still hanging in there, but I bought replacements the last time I was at the dealer to have on hand when they finally go. My dealer showed me how to do it, but your instructions will be helpful.
