Pics of my CarLab HID kit installed

As promised, here are pics of my CarLab 6000K HID kit for my fogs as well as my euro impact strip installed by Mark_Cummins a few months ago. I know it may look ghetto with all the zip ties, but I’ll find a way to mount the ballasts and igniters by fabricating my own brackets. For now..this will do.

Ballast mounted on the driver’s side. (looking upward)

Igniter mounted on the driver’s side.

Ballast and igniter mounted on the passenger side. (blue and the black box)

Thats a bright fog light, I think a foglight that bright would be illegal in LA though...sad

Are you getting any errors stating that a fog light is burnt out? Did you have to install a resistor so that the new HID kit draws the same wattage? I think that the OEM fogs are 55W and the HIDs usually use about 35W. Just curious. I am also interested in knowing the cost and perhaps a link to where you bought these lights.

Also, did you install the "sprintbooster?" How did it work out on the 320 engine?

Do you have any pics at night with both on and how do they compare to the stock HID color? Thinking of getting them for my CLK.

The kit cost me around the mid $200s and I installed it myself. Installation was easy since it was plug & play. Mounting the ballast was a biiish since its cramped behind the bumper. It's probably best if you could put the car on a lift.

I'll try to take some pics for you after I get back from my vacation. There is a slight variation from CarLabs 6000K HID kit and my Philips 6000K bulbs. The HID kit has a bluer tinge to it compared to my headlights, but its MUCH better than the halogen bulbs that comes with your foggies.

Nope, no errors whatsoever. I did have some problems a few weeks ago with my driver's side bulb not coming on anymore, but I found out that it was a loose connection (my fault). From my understanding, the kit has an internal resistor, which prevents the error message from popping up. I purchased the kit from CarLab, but they just came out with a newer version of the kit.

I haven't purchased the sprintbooster yet since all my time and funds has been focused on snowboarding. I'll probably pick one up soon and give you my review on them. Might even do install pics as well. Will keep you posted

Did you change the bulbs on the driving lamps (the ones inside the regular lamps), they look bright and white, not yellowish like mine... If you did, what bulbs did you use?

Cheers

The glare is so bright, you prolly can't use the fogs unless in actual fog w/o blinding oncoming traffic.
