Not A Nice Thought
Well what can one say...... ?
I thought I had got a flat WRONG !
Backed the car out of the garage to find that I had got a flat.
Removed wheel from car.... took to tyre shop to find (SEE PICTURES)
I HOPE MERCEDES DON,T MAKE THE WHEELS FOR ANY AIRCRAFT
The tyre shop told me that it was a faulty casting during manufacture and was NOT CAUSED BY HITING A POT HOLE OR ANY OTHER OBJECT.
I took the wheel to where I bought the car from new just short of three years ago with 33,000 miles on the clock.
I was told they would replace the rim free of charge IF I LEFT THE DAMAGED RIM WITH THEM.
NOT A NICE THOUGHT DRIVING AROUND IN WHAT IS SUPOSED TO BE ONE OF THE SAFEST CARS IN THE WORLD

Actually the cast rims are pretty solid. I've had mine modified a few times and the engineer was pretty impressed at the consistency and density.
Sorry for your bad luck. What is wrong with the dealer replacing it for free and keeping the broke one? You need a souvenir?
