The E should post some record sales numbers this month.

I don't like pointy grills or bumpers myself. The tail lights look like those of the new Camry. Not putting down the Camry here but it would have been nice if they were a bit more distinctively designed. The 2007 model is a great car and I'm sure it will do well.

2015 ML 350
The pointy bumper will get many a chip from sloppy parallel parkers. Glad to see the antenna is off the glass... makes sweeping snow easier. Steering wheel is an OK trim change to freshen up the interior. Wood wheel should be standard. Chrome trim on trunk lid is ok & is a cheap, quick freshening up, update for the rear. It does change the look of the rear. Tail lights are "Boy racer" ugly.

Good pictures!

I really hated the pointy head, whats up with that? The designer got infected by Acura syndrome or something?

I like the back though, planning on changing that trunk area, wonder how much it'll cost.

I just drove one

I just drove one of these 2007 E350's. Biggest changes are noticeable from the steering, which is much more direct, almost BMW-like, and the brakes, which feel normal (as opposed to how they felt with SBC). The materials on the interior are improved, there is wood trim on the transmission stalk and even the MB Tex feels more luxurious.

All the salespeople felt the new front end looked more like a Cadillac.

No Desert Silver

There is no such color in the 2007 catalogue.

That color is called Pewter. The interior is Cashmere.

At the end of the day, how the car drives is what really matters. Some may not like some aspects of the refreshed look, but that is minor compared to what appears to be major improvements in the driving experience.

Cosmetically, I'm glad I got my 2006 before the switch. Having come from a string of 4 BMWs before this E350, I wouldn't mind the steering improvements, though.

Still not sure either. Of course we're all biased as current w211 owners but I seriously don't think this is much of an "improvement". It seems like they just needed some way to update an already almost perfectly designed car so they threw on a little extra chrome and some different lights. Nothing really nice at all...

I completely agree. I had a 2004 330CiC that had minor styling changes (headlights in particular) compared to the previous year, which I actually thought was better looking than my car. I also had a 2001 530i with the "angel eye" headlights and clear/red taillights that I thought were a nice improvement over the 2000 models. Every few years manufacturers feel they have to do something to keep each model looking fresh, and it seems like it's 50/50 as to whether it's an improvement or not. Then again, like anything, it's all relative and a matter of taste.

The design if way off and I personnaly dont like it. I think MB does this so the people who didnt like the previous model would go ahead and buy this one, so they could keep selling their E's.

I'm in to market for a new CDi and the new look is not a deal breaker for me.

Unless: The resulting front license plate bracket will wind up looking like a big box stuck on front of the bumper.

My concern as well. Leaving the front plate off and taking a chance for a ticket is not an option. I wonder if the front plate could be mounted below the bumper, or off to one side?

Also, what are they doing in Europe, where the plates are wider?

Well that is because Kia has been stealing front-end designs from MB and Jaguar for a while now. The Benz had this look first and the 07 is just an evolution of it, maybe not a natural one (I don't like the point either), but still....

Ugh!

The cheap *** steering wheel looks like it has warts. I used to make fun of the stupid antennas on top of the BMW's. Now we have them. It is plain ugly. Maybe it's really a rudder.

There is a subtle difference that no one mentioned yet - look at the rear license plate "area"

It seems like with the ML they went to a "worldwide" decklid to save money, and we get the goofy results. That really disappoints me how the plate hangs down over the edge of the recess, kind of like the Honda SI did. (previous model to the present - half of the plate hung down over the recess!!)

Alrighty -- something you may have noticed, but no one has yet to mention -- Did you see that there is a digital climate control (like whats currently only available in the E500?). If thats true, and this is an E350... I'm thinking more and more of buying the last year E350 4matic before the big style change in 08/09ish!

Wooh!
